Virtual Programs This September

Please note, registration for each program is only required once every calendar year. If you have already registered for a program in 2024, you are automatically able to attend each session.  

Mondays

Wellness Workout

September 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th

 6pm-7pm

Join us for low-impact exercises using resistance bands or light weights for stress reduction and an overall sense of well-being.

Sip & Support

Lemonade for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

September 30th | 7pm-8pm | English

In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we are inviting all members of Crossroads4Hope to a Sip & Support virtual event featuring lemonade. Join us as Hilary Sachs, Crossroads4Hope’s registered dietician, provides a demonstration on how to make frozen lemonade pairs with healthy tips and variations to try with your family. Hilary will be joined by our Certified Child Life Specialist, Caitlin Novelli, who will provide insight into childhood cancer and facilitate a Q&A. Let’s come together and raise a glass to show our support!

Balance, Harmony, Flow:
Jin Shin Jyutsu

Join us for Jin Shin Jyutsu, a focus on self-care and leveraging the body’s innate ability to heal when the body, mind and spirit is in balance. In a gentle form of acupressure, the goal is to restore the flow of energy, which may be blocked due to illness or pain. 

Peaceful Practices

T'ai Chi Chih

Yoga Class

Join us for a yoga class, focusing on postures modified for your skill level and needs. 

Writing Workshop for Children & Youth

September 17th | 7pm- 8pm

Join Crossroads4Hope for a special writing workshop for children and youth ages 8-18, facilitated by Caitlin Novelli, Crossroads4Hope’s Youth and Families Program Coordinator and Certified Child Life Specialist. This event is open to all children and youth affected by cancer, offering them a safe space to express their feelings and share their unique experiences. 

Parent Connection Pop-Up! Parents of Children with Pediatric Cancer

September 24th | 7pm- 8pm

In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, join Crossroads4Hope for the Parent Connection Pop-Up: Parents of a Child with a Cancer Diagnosis. We invite parents of children with cancer diagnoses to connect with other fellow parents who also understand the unique challenges of parenting a child with cancer. The session will be facilitated by Katie Fesenmaier, one of Crossroads4Hope’s Certified Child Life Specialists, who will guide the conversation and offer valuable resources and support as needed. This event is open to all parents of children with cancer, providing a supportive environment to share experiences and gain insights.

Yoga, Breathe & Balance

September 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th | 9:30am- 10:30am

This class combines breath work with traditional yoga poses for peace of mind and increased flexibility. You will learn the benefits of how to use breathing for cleansing, detoxifying, strengthening, purifying, toning and refreshing. This exercise can be done on the floor or on a chair! 

Yoga para el Bienestar

Únete a Crossroads4Hope para nuestras clases continuas de yoga, facilitadas por Nathalia Montoya Casanova, una instructora de yoga certificada.  Estas clases están diseñadas para proporcionar una experiencia completa y accesible en yoga. Durante cada sesión, exploraremos diversas posturas de yoga y técnicas de respiración para apoyar su bienestar mental, emocional y físico. Con cada clase, tendrá la oportunidad de profundizar en su práctica, aprender nuevas habilidades y fortalecer la conexión cuerpo-mente. La inscripción está abierta a todos y las clases se realizarán en español.

Únase a Crossroads4Hope para un taller sobre “Hablemos sobre el cáncer de mama y el riesgo de recurrencia”, facilitado por Laurie Rosa, BSN RN OCN CBCN, Educadora Clínica de Enfermería de Puma Biotechnology. Mientras que este taller se centrará en el cáncer de mama HER2+, es aplicable a personas con todo tipo de cáncer de mama.

Head & Hair Wrapping: History and Techniques for Those Affected by Cancer

Join Crossroads4Hope for an enriching workshop “Head and Hair Wrapping: History and Techniques for Those Affected by Cancer” led by Dr. Mecca K. Terry, Ph.D., founder of Embracing My Natural, Inc. This session will explore the history of head wraps and offer practical techniques for stylish and comfortable head coverings.

Let’s Talk About Breast Cancer and Risk of Recurrence

Facilitated by Laurie Rosa, BSN RN OCN CBCN, Clinical Nurse Educator from Puma Biotechnology, this program will provide a comprehensive overview of the risk of recurrence in breast cancer, focusing on understanding what it is and how you can proactively address it.
