This module focuses on foods to eat when you are on the go.We will discuss healthy options at restaurants, packing snacks and healthy meals while traveling away from home. The second half of this presentation is a virtual cooking demo in which we share our easy to make home-made versions of your favorite “fast food” meals.
Eat to Beat Stress (Session 2) – Friday, October 14th:
Stress: There is no avoiding it, but having strategies to manage stress can be a powerful tool for your health. In this webinar, we discuss specific ways to nourish the body to help you to combat the effects of stress and explore mindful behaviors surrounding food choices when stressed. The second half of this presentation is a virtual cooking demo in which we share our favorite ways to turn stress-busting foods into fast foods, that can easily fit into your busy day.
Building a Healthy Kitchen II (Session 3) – Friday, October 28th:
The first step to building a healthy diet is creating an environment that sets you up for success. In this webinar, we break your kitchen down into different zones: the pantry, freezer, and refrigerator and provide you with tips on how to fill each of them with delicious, health-supporting, whole foods. The second half of this presentation is a virtual cooking demo in which we share our favorite ways to turn these foods into quick and easy meals and snacks.
Friday, October 7th & October 21st:
New for this series is the addition of two supplemental sessions in between each week where members who sign up for the program can sit down with a licensed social worker and a registered dietician to discuss any barriers or limitations regarding nutrition and their cancer diagnosis.
