We have launched our Campaign for the Future to empower people impacted by cancer
While a major concern for cancer patients, many do not have the knowledge and resources to cook healthy meals that aid in their treatment and recovery. Our approach offers evidence-based nutrition education, social and emotional support, and experiential learning to lead to the best outcomes. Without these resources, cancer patients can suffer physical side effects such as malnutrition, as well as the emotional effects of diagnosis and treatment.
Crossroads4Hope is working closely with leaders in the Hispanic/Latino; South Asian; Caribbean/African-American; Veteran; LGBTQ; and others to bridge the support gap with programs and services tailored to their communities’ unique situations. Individuals and families in these communities are suffering due to lack of resources and representation; transportation issues; and stigma. Our goal is to provide culturally humble social and emotional support in trusted sites within these communities
25% of cancer patients have children age 19 and younger. There is little support for children impacted by cancer, either directly or indirectly through the diagnosis of a loved one. Our programs, led by a Certified Child Life Specialist, provide coping strategies and a safe space for these children and their families.
Stepping Stone Clubhouse will offer social areas, crafts, and activities for children and teens. These resources are not widely available to children who aren’t patients, but they are just as vital for the social and emotional well being of the family unit facing a cancer diagnosis.
Nutrition and Family Center
The new building will be named in memory of one of our members, Mark Lipschutz, who touched so many lives in our community.
Our goal is to create a unique space featuring a demonstration kitchen and dedicated kids’ space, Stepping Stone Clubhouse. This center will allow us not only to meet the needs of individuals and families impacted by cancer on-site, but also through state-of-the-art broadcast technology to reach those members unable to join us.
